Belgium Trip Report
We were so fortunate the Sun was out every day and the temperature was locked into the low to mid twenties. We stayed in a superb brand spanking new hotel just five minutes walk to the center of De Panne, the number one resort for the best local
cycling in this region of Belgium...

Places visited from De Panne included Popperinge, Ypres, Oostend, Brugge, Nieuwpoort Bad, Diksmuide and Veurne.
The overall consensus means we will almost certainly do the same again
during June next year. ed

Hi All

France/Belgium 4 Day Trip.

30th May. We meet at Dover Eastern Docks around 08:00 am and travel via DFDS ferries to Dunkirk. After disembarking the ferry, we ride form Dunkirk to De Panne
whwere we  are staying for 4 nights before returning to the UK.

PRE-BOOKING INFORMATION

OUTBOUND CROSSING: 30th May, Dover – Dunkirk sailing with DFDS. Timings 10:00.

INBOUND CROSSING: 3rd June, Dunkirk – Dover sailing with DFDS. Timings 16.00.

ONBOARD FACILITIES: We are still waiting for the offer of a private Continental Breakfast buffet on the outbound trip which will consist of: Fruit Juice, Sliced Ham & Cheese, Selection of French Pastries, Fresh Croissants, Selection of Rolls, Butter & Preserves, Tea & Coffee

THE PRICE: Total cost for the return ferry crossing is: £36.00 per person.  Although unlikely it is still possible that the price may be subject to change.

OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION: In order to avoid breaching EU Travel Package Regulations you will need to book your own rooms.

We will be staying in a brand new hotel in De Panne rooms are currently available at £60.00 per night (£30 each for two sharing). These prices will increase as the cheaper rooms are taken.

However, if this is not to your taste there are many other local hotels available online. Please give me a call or send an email if you find the above confusing, I know I do!

The above prices are only available online. If you do not have internet access you could team up with another member who does have the internet and book it that way.

Day 1: This is our free day; we hope to organise a number of suitable rides on the day.

Day 2: Another free day for a ride.

Day 3:
Another free day for a ride.

Day 4: We ride to Dunkirk for our return ferry crossing to the UK.

HI VIZ WAISTCOATS: It is now compulsory to carry these when cycling in France; they must be worn out of town during inclement weather or reduced visibility. You can be fined around 35 euros if you are not carrying one.

INSURANCE: This is compulsory; you will need to confirm that you have comprehensive cycling insurance including cover in France in order to come on the trip.

WHY NOT RIDE TO AND FROM DOVER? Some will be riding to Dover on Sunday 29th May.
More information will be available later.

Staying ovenight in Dover rooms are currently £45.00 per night in the Premier Inn Dover Central.

If you are interested in coming on the trip please contact us, before the 1st May.
