We’re a finalist in the annual search to find the UK’s favourite project funded by the Big Lottery Fund, for our 84 new walking and cycling networks across the UK. Please help us win the environment category by voting for us by Wednesday 24 July.

Six Pedal On UK events announced, and more dates coming soon
Sustrans' eight-stage summer cycle tour is being accompanied by many celebratory events. Dates for six have been confirmed so far, in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, London, Ripley and Southampton. We'd love people across the UK to join us in celebrating our new walking and cycling routes on the National Cycle Network - keep an eye on our website for other dates coming soon. Pedal On UK is being funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

Join the 5,000 calling for cycling-friendly workplaces - sign our petition
More than 5,000 people have signed our petition for a national cycle-to-work standard for all workplaces. We’re aiming for 50,000 signatures so please keep spreading the word! We’ve also released the results of our April survey, where over 10,000 people told us about their experience of cycling to work.

Sustainable travel award for Sustrans
We won the Eurostar Ashden Award for Sustainable Travel at the end of June, for our work to create 84 new walking and cycling routes across the UK.
Our Chief Executive Malcolm Shepherd attended the awards ceremony in London.

Chancellor George Osborne’s decision to fund the largest programme of investment in roads in half a century in the recent Spending Review will do little to boost the UK’s economy, according to Sustrans Policy Director, Jason Torrance.

8th Brompton World Championships
Free places up for grabs for people who offer to fundraise for Sustrans at the biggest folding bike race in the world. Brompton is offering Sustrans supporters a 25% entry discount.

20-22 September
Starting in Newcastle, this three-day fundraising Coast and Castles ride covers 200 miles and will finish with a celebratory dram in the shadow of Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh.
