What is Careless Driving?
Mick Mason’s Old Bailey case: why, what happened, and where now?
Winston Churchill once said: “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” And that perfectly sums up the approach Cycling UK and our Cyclists’ Defence Fund are adopting now the dust has settled after last week’s disappointing and concerning verdict in the Mick Mason case. Cycling UK’s Duncan Dollimore was at the Old Bailey for the duration as Gail Purcell was found not guilty of causing Mick’s death by careless driving after our private prosecution. Duncan has written a brilliant, in-depth analysis of the trial, its repercussions, why we were right to prosecute, and how we will continue to campaign for Road Justice on behalf of cyclists everywhere.
